Nordic Flavors & Spirits Tasting

When the weather turns cold, the cold turn to warming spirits.

Join us on Saturday, February 15^th from 3-5, for an immersive class on the spirit and flavor inspirations of Northern Europe. Nordic and Northern European spirits have a rich history rooted in centuries-old distilling traditions, traditions influenced by the region's natural resources, Viking heritage, and a deep connection to seasonal ingredients.

Because things that grow together, go together, samples of Vodka, Genever, Gin and Aquavit will be paired with modern takes on Danish open-faced sandwiches (aka Smørrebrød), prepared by Lawrence baker, Michael Hennecke.

In the winter, the Nordic cultures turn to foods they “put-away” in the warmer months. Not surprisingly, many of these foods—delicacies like cured/smoked fish, pickled/fermented vegetables, preserved fruits and berries, and aged cheeses--marry beautifully with Northern European spirits.
